I do plan on getting one. I think that the car looks pretty sharp and probably will be good quality. The only thing that scares me is that the 3k lbs might hurt its performance a little bit. Anyone else want to comment?

I like the panoramic glass roof (a la Porsche) and it's standard. The car that I previewed earlier had a steel roof. Nice!

Looks-wise it's much better than the Corolla.

But the tC will certainly outhandle the Corolla with it's stock 215/45-17 rubber in conjunction with it's independent rear end.

tC...muahahah! sweet.... i think the cars performance will be similar to that of a corolla but with just a tad bit more power. i predict that it would match up with a corolla(1zz-fe) evenly. When you slap on a supercharger for that tC, it would be as if you were slapping on a supercharger for the corolla. In the end, even match up. You get a coupe, with a panoramic sunroof(like the C230K, C320 Hatchback Benz), 17" wheels, better suspension, lots of standard features, and a high insurance rate. Or ...you can get a sedan, with regular features, and low insurance rate. Overall as of now, i'd go for the tC. but we throw in the towel after we give it a test drive.

I test drove the CorollaXRS today...and lemme tell ya...it was nice and quick.. a lot of minor changes to the interior even compared to the 05 S model..but when that rpm guage hits 6500 or so...Lift's got ya covered til 8000! :D too bad it doesn't kick in earlier. :?

i'm most likely going to get a tC. Going to wait awhile though to see what, if any, types of negative reviews and/or problems the car might have. I've been problem free and very happy with my corolla. That's why i'm keeping it in the family...going to my lil' sister.

I know this should prolly be in a different topic...but just continuing the convo...

the seats for the XRS felt a bit more comfortable. It only had 2 miles on the car so it didn't settle in yet so I can't really say.

the lift does really kick in and you know when it kicks in. Don't think of a MAJOR gain in speed or anything like that...but you can tell that it is giving off more power to the wheels.

the throttle feels really light and when you drive it up to 6500, it feels a bit like the 1zz. what's funny is that you would think you'd need to shift already, but you still keep your foot on that pedal until it hits 8000. after 6500, you'll feel a sudden gain in speed and higher/louder engine noise. driving wise - its like putting a small turbo in the high end. It's a really good car... but i still feel that the 1zz is superior over the 2zz. it just has more potential than the 2zz as far as i know..

Give it a test drive...and let us know what you think...

I just sat in the tC today at the Toyotafest @ the Queen Mary here in Socal...
I just dropped my jaw, and drooled... =b... car was so nice in person.. i saw at the LA car show.. but seeing it up close and being able to sit in it was so nice..

it sits much lower than the corolla.. and the seats fit me much better.. better driving position, and the interior quality is so nice... white looks so nice on the car... the seats are so comfy and yet very supportive.

the 2az-fe is pretty good.. 160 hp, 163lb tq. Add on the supercharger from TRD and you are set... panoramic roof, 17" wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 wheel ind. suspension, rear seats recline, MP3 player w/ 6 speakers inc. tweeters. Windows are all auto down. the interior feels very upscale... very sporty seats...

i wish I can trade in my corolla.. but i'll probably get raped by the dealers... and i can't afford to buy a new car now.. =( oh well.... let me win the lotto!!!

but the tC is SO nice... i want one!

I think Celica will still handle better because it's lighter, and smaller. Where as the tC is more of a cruiser but i'm sure it will handle way better than our mini 4x4 corollas. If handling is your thing, get an AE86.. or any RWD car... =)

Yeah, i wonder if Celica GT or GT-S will have higher insurance than tC?

How does a Corolla XRS or Matrix XRS fit into the insurance game?

I'll call tomarow, and get a quote for the XRS rolla and let you know how much it goes up in price. How ever much it goes up should be about the same for everyone.Like I said before the TC goes up to 30bucks more every month for me.Hey can anyone else call and get a quote and see how much it goes up for them for the TC?
