    New mods installed...

...I got my Energy suspension engine mount inserts and TRD cold air intake installed a couple of days ago. I must say I'm quite pleased w/the improvements, while I really like the CAI I'm enjoying the absence of wheel hop even more.

...I purchased the Energy Suspension engine mount inserts from PTuning.com, my dealer installed them b/c they are mod friendly and I basically have the only modified Corolla they see on a regular basis (DriftinRolla lives in my area as well so there are two modded 03s). I would quote you an install price, but I had a friend who works there do the work so it wouldn't be at all accurate. However, here's a link for the parts...hope this helps.

The Wheel hop phenomena, explained here; http://features.evolutionm.net/article/rrmcorner/14 is virtually eliminated by stabilizing the drive train with front and rear motor mount urethane inserts. I got my black Energy Suspension inserts (part # 8.1101 listed for the manual Matrix which shares manual Corolla's mounts) http://www.energysuspension.com/toy.html from Suspension Restoration Parts Co. http://www.suspension.com/ for $25 + shipping.
Installation is pretty easy...First, I un-clipped the shifter cables from the tranny and moved them out of the way. I then removed 2 bolts securing the rear mount to the tranny and the long bolt securing it to the lower mount section. I then only had to jack the car to remove the lower tranny mount bolt. The mount's top section was easily pulled out, cleaned and inserts installed. I then dropped it back in place, started the top bolts in, then while supporting the car, jacked the tranny SLIGHTLY to start and tighten the lower tranny mount bolt. After lowering the car, I simply tightened the 3 top bolts and secured the shifter cables back on. Figuring it out, and looking for tools all took me just over an hour. I then did the front mount.
So, a good and honest mechanic could charge about an hour, hour and a half for labor...
I felt a difference as soon as I turned the key to start the engine. Slight vibration at idle, easy solid launch and shifting...Very nice sturdy feel overall.

glad to hear it man, i am also real happy with my inserts, it a whole differant car. The idle is a little rough, but it gets a little smoother when they break in. I cant think of a better way to spend $30

I was going to ask is it only for a manual transmission?

Maybe someone could do an install guide and post it on the DIY. I think a bigger DIY would give me a lot of ideas to do.

I have had a big urge to start working on my car again, but lack the ideas on what to do.

Yeah, they are only recommended for the manual transmission equiped which benefit more from stiffer front and rear 'torque position' mounts... They might actually fit the automatic but may cause excessive vibrations.
