oh yeah im looking to spend $350 but in the moment of truth i will go up to 4 bills..basically a good headunit that will give me good EQ control since im planning to upgrade to components in the front a 4channel amp...a new sub and bass amp..both RF .and a separate equalizer

i wasnt thinking of selling my headunit but i might let it go since you are looking for something good. its an alpine 7897 from last years lineup. its the one with an oversized face plate that folds into the dash when you turn the car off.

oh and stay away from rf and sony. in your price range i would stick with alpine, eclipse, or pioneer.

I have about $10K in my stereo now (not trying to brag, just trying to lend some credibility to my recommendation) and I have had all kinds of decks in the thing trying to get the best sound quality and the most options as far as sound adjusting goes. Out of everything I have ever tried, I like Alpine decks the most by far. For the money, I don't think you will find a better sounding deck that you will like more.
