new eclipse hitting showrooms late 2005?

Wuzzzzzzup? Alright, I'm in the mortgage business and I'm taking an application from a Mitsubishi sales manager and we get to talking. HE says the new Eclipse is hitting showrooms late 2005. According to HIS sources, the body style is a blend between the 95-99 Eclipse and the new 350Z. There will be a few models of course- the top of the line pushing 300 horses and a load of torque. HE claims that no car in its class will be able to touch it looks, performance or price wise. Take it with a grain of salt, he could be bullishin but..... something tells me he's not. This was the first I heard of this. Anybody else heard this? Any pics? Just giving a heads-up. We might have some serious competition soon.

I got the new consumer reports. The rumors of a rwd electric engine is not in it. And the 3.8L V6 is ummm... 260-290hp. I cant remember off the top of my head. I get confused with the nissan and new toyota 3.5's out.

Those new Eclipses aren't all that, we'll have to see about the "engine quality" when they come out. 1gen eclipses had outstanding motors then the 2nd gen went bad and then the 3rd gen went to SHIT!!! so I dk if this new one even though it seems powerful but the quality it's what counts...

I would find the pics for you all but its a waste of my time. The thing looks disgusting, I'd never buy it. Also, I am yet to hear anything about a turbo model either, just more of that v6

There is an article in the newest SCC. It is going to have a 4 and 6 cylinder option. I can't remember how much power the 4 is but the 6 is 260 hp. There will only be FWD no AWD like it should be. Looks like crap also. I'd never get it. The fog lamps look hideous also...all in all :: puke :: :D

260 hp is pretty darn good for a V6, but I don't care for the looks either. An eclipse just doesn't do it for me unless it's AWD and turbo 4 cylinder.

260 isnt all that considering its a 3.8L to get that power. Shit nissans 3.5L V6 in the G35 is pushing 298hp. And the new toyota V6 3.5L Dual VVTI is pushing 280hp.

Nissan and Toyota own the V6's, Nissan being first though i think.

I don't like V6 or V8... a waste of money on the car, on gas and on freakin maintenance, so screw that lol..... 260 hp 3.8??? that is weak man!!!! Killer has a point shit the G35 and the 350z have insane power for V6 so this eclipse it's nothin special.... I dk about u guys but The Evo is the only thing saving Mitsubishi right now cause since they got rid of the 3000GT and the old eclipse that many have, Mitsubishi is been going downhill from there...

my 4.0L V6 is dropping 245hp and 285 lb. ft. of torque but I kinda have a weight issue with the X-Runner. I would still line it up for a laugh. I might make him sweat just a little, being I have a little more torque
