new bearings in the motor or say screw it

so here is my delema i can get the bearings replacedin the bottom end if that is the problem for around 700 and a remand or used motor is out of the question. it would cost more to replace the motor than the car is acually worth which is gay if you ask me and now idk what to do im gonna run some thicker oil in it for the time being but then idk how long its going to last me. im really mad about this
    anyone have any suggestions

year of car?since you said used motor is out of the question your only route is buying a new bearing or rebuild the whole motor and i wouldnt drive the car you just gonna make things worse.

yea thats what i was thinking. I figured i was misreading it at first and seeing it as 700 for the dealers parts and then another amount for labor.

And i am unfamiliar with which bearings too. The ones that control the pistons? IDK if it is the engine's bearings, but it sounds mighty complicated.

Don't quote me though, i may be wrong.

also has anyone had to change the bearings out is it easy to do toyota wants 700 w/labor to do it

If I were you, I would go with replacing the bearings just because you never know what you could get buying a junkyard motor or a used one. At least you know how the motor you have now has been treated. You never know the last motor could have been beaten worse than the one you have now and die 10 miles down the road. Just my opinion.

might as well as do it if u have the money. To hard to sell and not expensive enough to have to buy a new car.

Just pray nothing else will go bad afterwards = )
