Hey whats up, I am deathsight's friend, ya i just bought a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, and i am new to cars, and not sure what to do with it....i have $2500, but i do not plan on rasing it or dropping it...i do not plan on putting rims on it either...i plan on just basically putting a system in it, and just adding stuff to it...but i have NO idea where to start when it comes to sound systems or anything...everything is stock...can you please post pictures and prices, anything and everything i just need help on what to buy, (it does not have to be sound systems either, just anything that would look good on a 2004 Black tahoe) Thanks...

Well, lets see. If I were to have your car, I would put in an air bag suspension, HID headlights and foglights, 4 12 inch subwoofers or as many as I could fit in the back, flip-up head display with DVD player, dark ass tints, and I think that's it. Or you could check out MTV and look how rap stars have their cars hooked up.

Ok could someone give him some help on good sound equipment? His truck has like an inch of space in the back since he has another row seat back there. What can be done about this about subs and the such? His stock sound is 8 BOSE speakers and sound awsome. Hes been wondering if getting a new head unit be good and if it would screw up what he has now?

With that kind of dough i would get a 12 w7. And a 1000 watt amp. Then i would lower it. If you are going to drive it about 3 days a week or more don't get airbags.

OK. Take the truck to a custom car audio shop and ask them what you are asking us. If you don't know where a custom audio shop is, go to Best Buy or Circuit City and ask the people who work there if they know where a custom car audio shop is. Whatever you do, don't buy anything from Best Buy or Circuit City though. You can get alot better quality for you money.

A custom audio shop can show you previous installs they have done to give you an idea of what's out there and they also could tell you whether or not they could work some subs around the 3rd row bench.

You can do alot with that kind of money, but it just depends on what route you decide to take.

Alright, I took my tahoe to the custom audio shop, and they said that i could get 2 12" JL subs (Which would be about $450) with a JL amp (its a really nice one for about 500), and a head unit (its a 310$ head unit) installed and everything for about $1900. They said the thing to put the speakers in was 250$ then with wires and shit it would equal 1900....i said "what the hell? why so much" he said "ok, i can downgrade the subs and make it $1500"...so im getting a little bit less quality subs but it should still hit...what do you guys think?

Remember they gotta custom fit them into the truck since he doesnt have room at all. Is that a good price?

I've never done a custom install, but I spent just over $1000 on my system, and that only included one sub and I didn't even have any custom fabrication.... so that might sound about right.

Try another shop in your area and see what they would do it for...

You didnt count labor, he doesnt have any space at all, he doesnt have a trunk at all so they had to make it fit.

if they do a top notch job, then yeah, 1500.. but that better be DAMN GOOD PERFECT WORK..

so many shops half ass their installs, cut your stock wiring harness, ghetto rig all kinds of wiring, only half carpet boxes... it's horrible..

BE CAREFUL!! it may look good on the outside, but be utter crap where you CAN'T see the work being performed
