    Need help?

I nees some opinions on what I am about to do to my wifes corolla,I just want to make sure that what I plan on doing is ok.(1) Converting her low beams to HID.Figure that doing the highs would be useless(may put in hid looking bulbs). Will the stock lenses be ok or should I go with an aftermarket set,if so any suggestions?

Most of the HID kits out there are plug and play and pose no problem when fitted in stock lenses. I would stay away from HID looking bulbs. They may have the same color but the output is not so great. Due to the high color temperature of HID looking bulbs, it can't achieve the maximum visibility of 4300k.

Yeah.I am looking and the 4300k conversion kits.I was thinking about getting some sylvania 9005su so that the highs if needed would not be the halogen looking light.Since I'm not replacing th ehousings,do I need to worry about blinding the crap out of oncomng drivers?I was told that since the corolla lenses are long,it would be ok.

Some kits include correct shielding over the HID filaments. Before you buy, consult the seller and ask him directly if they are included. Do not buy kits that are unshielded. Those are illegal and very dangerous. I wouldn't worry too much about the color of the high beams. You wouldn't be using them much at all so they is really no need.

I wasn't aware that if they were unshielded that they were illegal. Thanks for the headsup. So,if a kit comes with th shields,I should be ok? If they don't,stay away from them?

Yeah. Only buy ones with proper safety shielding. Also, another tip, try to buy kits made in Japan and not kits made in China. Made it China kits have shoddy workmanship... I have a kit from AutoEye of Tokyo Subaru.

I would get the second one. That's a really good deal. 100 + free shipping + shields. I can't see anything better than that.

It all depends on the kit. They may use Phillips parts.

hmm Its better to buy from a US dealer. They tend to include regulation spec products. China is too lax and tends to only want to sell and profit.

Got around to looking at the kit today and it looks good,Except I was that the bulb shields were included. They wasn't. Only for the H4,not the HB4 which her car uses. Now what do I do? I don't want to blind people.Do I sell them?Get new housings that they would work in,etc? I have also been told that they won't work in the housing because they are to be used with a halogen bulb?

The HB4 is the same as 9006. The ebay auction is deceptive. It says that the kits include bulb shields. It doesn't specify which ones have or don't have them. Since they answered yes, one would assume all of them. Ask the seller for the shields or return them and get a set that has them.

no offence to anyone , but chinese do not honor guarantees or warrentys. i had the same problem. i ordered 2 super white leds , one was bluish , and one was purplish.i e-mailed repeatedly with no responce , but yet i kept gettin e-mails to leave him feed back , so i deid , then he got in contact with me. he asked if i had read the disclaimer about returns on his page . the fine print was so small it looked like a seperation line across the screen , you couldnt even tell it was print. i then reported it to e-bay.

It's legal as long as you have the proper shield on the HID filaments so you don't blind oncoming traffic or the person in front of you.

That is true. I'm Asian American and I would not deal in overseas transactions to save my life. Chinese in general do a shitty job and don't care about quality. Its always about profit and wholesaling. I have firsthand experience with Chinese and I hate them when it comes to business. Its always a no refund policy. Buy from a trusted source. It will save you the hassle and time to get things right if you can even do that.

OK this might sound dumb but I'm still new....is this stuff legal in all states? I looked at the stats in the first ebay link here and it looks pretty impressive. Saves power, 10 times the number of life hours etc. etc. etc. If it is legal, then I might get one too....
