I would worry about the aesthetics other than the taillights or leds looking gay. Just smoke or red out some stock tails.

I think the rear of his car looks good without the trunk reflectors. I think some OE tails preferably 97 style with a light smoke would look nice

Because of the way the two-tone is sprayed - makes the rear lamps look unbalanced to the clean trunk (no emblems or reflector).

Two options that might work - completely mask out the tails and blend them into the trunk lines (looks like no rear lamps - done with vinyl) but run LEDs that shine through the vinyl (saw that done in a car show, was pretty decent).

Another option is to scrap the OEM lines and go with a separated tail lamps or narrow, skinner one. Think along the lines of Nissan GT-R/Ferrari/Corvette (separate, round tail lamps) and Toyota Supra (smaller, round lamps in one housing). Need to break up that wide expanse of satin black - otherwise, it sort of looks like a bandaid stuck to the corner of the car.

May just have to play around with some photo-chopping to get that look right. If I get a chance, I'll try and chop something for comparison - or maybe someone else could find the time to do that. Could also use templates from other cars and hold them up to the trunk and see what compliments the look of it.

I actually like the third piece that runs across. It gives it more of a euro look.
