Need Help On What I need For A Turbo

    Hi guys,

Thinking about buyin a Turbo Kit from www.turbo-kits.com for my 2003 Corolla S. I need some input on how it will affect my car dirvability, and reliablity... I would need to keep the car for a long time. Also what else do I need aside from the kit.

    Thanks in advance

Jon, there is so much to cover and its been done a million times.... Click the search button and put in "turbo" ... a TON of topics will come up including ones that talk about a complete turbo kit.

A turbo will effect the reliability of the car because its just added wear and tear on your motor. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time, either only boost low pressure, or upgrade the motor and transmission on the car so you can run higher boost reliably. Drivability... well thats the fun part :)

    Good luck.

jon i don't recommend going turbo unless you know a lot about working with engines and how all the components of a turbo work. don't expect a bolt on and go, even with well developed kits there are always small problems. say your oil return line comes loose without you knowing it and all your oil spills on the road, bye bye engine.

I don't recommend any kit for the 1zz-fe (only 2 that I know of), I would recommend the stafford one, if I didn't hear about parts missing and read up on all the kits not being shipped out for 3 months or more. If you really, really want to do it. Pay a shop that has cars that they have custom turbocharged before (see if they do a good job and all). But even then you risk trouble, because not everybody modifies a corolla.
