    Need help installing racing seats....

Ok I finally got my racing seats and having a hard time trying to remove the stock sliders from the seats. I can use it to mount my new seats down and can't seem to find out how to remove them. So far I was able to drill out the two little front mounts welded to it and got it to mount the front part of the seats. I need to use the rear mounts and can't drill them out. So I figured I'll just follow someone's idea of using the stock sliders and connect it with the racing seat's sliders.

You're drilling out just the part that bolts to the floor? Sounds tricky. I just took the whole bottom sliding piece off like you mentioned. Here's a picture of my brackets, no welding required:

To get the stock brackets off I drilled out the little roller things and then I used a dremel to grind off the little bumps that keep them from sliding off. Then I took a rubber mallet and was able to knock them off. It's true you can't put your stock seats back in but I'm happy with my racing seats and wouldn't take them back out again.

I made them myself. Steel cross bars were about $10 (dont remember for sure). Couple bucks for nuts and bolts. Went through a drill bit making the holes so I guess that's like another $5.

I got some axe g1 racing seats. They look exactly like the Tenzo type r seats, but all black and no writing cause I wanted a clean simple look. I got it for 300 on ebay and they are really great for the price. I'll post some pics of it when I'm done.

Alright guys the time has come when I finally got both seats installed. It sits kinda high cause I followed 93corolladx's method of having the seats on top of the stock rails. I'm gonna put it under tommorrow morning and hopefully by tommorrow or Saturday have pics up.

A long time. About five hours on each seats cause taking out the stock sliders from the seats takes a long time. Also drilling through the sliders takes the most time cause I broke 6 drill bits that where titanium. The easiest way that I found out to drill was start with the smallest bit then work through the sizes until its big enough. I did mine kinda a different way from 93corolladx which probably his way is easier cause it took me too much time. It would have been faster if I got new drill bits before I started cause I didn't have all the set and started with medium sized ones.
