need help dealing with a 97 rolla

hey every one. I have a 1997 toyota corolla and have the basic mods done to it. Like air intake and exhaust but looking for some real gains. I was looking around for a turbo but cant find one for the 97. Am i better off selling the car for a newer one or keeping the one i have and tuning it up? If some one can give me a little infomation about where i can buy a turbo from that would be great. An engine swap would not be a bad idea eather but i want a shit load of power. Would a celica engine fit in with some cutting and welding? Would it be wouth it. Well any one whe can help plaese do. Thank you Kyle.

okay man, dont buy a kit, you want to go custom all the way for a turbo project, get something like a T3 because they are a fast spooling turbo, you are gooing to need this list <a href="http://mdweiss.ods.org/celica/7AFTE.htm" target="_blank">http://mdweiss.ods.org/celica/7AFTE.htm</a> it has everything you will need to turbo your 7afe (i am asumming that you have the 7a and not the 4a) i am actually turbo my 7a right now, EBAY has great deals for used turbos and everything you will need for the project, you can run safely under 8PSI on stock internals, you will push approx. 175-200 HP to the wheels (i may have the numbers wrong, i was told) you will learn alot more about your car if you do the 7a-fte project, you can also swap in the 4agze (supercharged) which will fit right into your engine bay, there are numerous threads on swaps so please use the search function for your swapping info...any further questions feel free to email me at <a href="mailto:Irishflame27@yahoo.com">Irishflame27@yahoo.com</a>... im sure others will chime in with more turbo and swap info...good luck!

You could also swap in a 4AGZE, which makes anywhere from 145 to 170hp depending on the year of the engine, the 165 and 170hp versions made 151 ft-lb of torque, good all around engine. Its a 1.6 liter DOHC supercharged 4 banger...

You can aslo check into ebay for good buys on a cat converter, header/downpipe, cat-back and so forth. You won't get incredible gains, but every little bit helps.

P.S. I also have a 97, and I notice a big difference with the header/downpipe and the cat converter. I have a stainless muffler, but I have to have the piping done from the cat to the muffler.
