My First Autox w/ Pics. :)

Well I went down to Dothan. AL with my friends that autox, and I was planning on just watching. Well they talked me into running my car, so I did. :) I ran in HS, which is what I'm told to be the lowest stock class. lol oh well I had fun. My friend's wife and I took turns driving my car. I had five runs. The first run was 77.9 not really good. The last run I got it down to a 72.4 something BUT I hit a cone....grrr... :) She got a 69. I just couldn't catch her. She's good. :)

Oh well it was a good time. I think I'll do it again.

Wow, I forgot how much body roll our cars have when they are stock thanks for the trip to memory lane. LOL

Hope you drop the car and then try it again, its a lot more fun when you have the right suspension

I was planning on going down to Warminster, PA this Saturday to watch an AutoX. After reading this, I'm inspired to run my Rolla.

I was fixin to ask if your car was stock, paolino, lol....it looks unusual for a car as bulky as a 2003+ corolla run an auto-x especially without some suspension ungrades....so def upgrade ur suspension and be sure to post bout that run cuz im curious to see how improved your results will turn out.....nonetheless, that looks like so much fun, great job...

The best bet of those 3 is all of them and since you have a 9th you can get a crossbar that goes behind your rear seats.

    gotarheels,
I went with the Toyo Proxes; FC4 I think. With the oh-so-heavy and ever-popular Motegi MR7's. [snicker]
I have a twm short-shift kit on the way, and as soon as I can get a setup that I feel comfortable ordering, I'll have coilvers, springs, or springs and sleeves. :)

rolla hit it right. I would like all of those. lol It will put me up at least into the STS, or STX (I think) group with my buddys' wrxs, but hell I just wanna race and have fun. I don't care if I lose. I mean if I win great, but if not great too. :)

I want sways, at least the rear sway and a front strut brace. If I need the front sway and rear Xbar, I might get them. :)

Its just such a pain trying to find a good suspension setup. I do not want just springs. (Although I've heard good things about the S Techs from people I trust on here) I still worry about being on stock struts. The only struts I can find are the Tein SS Coliovers and the Koni Cartidges. One of the guys on 9thgencorolla has the koni's with ground control coilovers (spring/sleeve)

    I'm looking trust me. :)

So far the SS from Tein is cool because it can be preset and with the EDFC (Electronic Damper Force Controller) I could have preset settings for driving and for racing. :)

Howver, that could be just a tad bit of overkill...not to mention being the most expensive option to boot... lol

    D Matrix,
    Thanks man. :)

Well sway bars automatically come with a front and rear sway bar which will help with body roll.
The strut bar will also help with the body roll and stiffen the chassiss so will the rear X bar.
There is no really prob going with struts and springs that what I got and its great.

All I need is new struts and the sway bars and need to replace the bent lower control arm and my suspension is done

yeah too bad the EDFC can't and won't work with our cars... (not enough room to fit the motor boxes in the rear) kind of sucks but oh well

If memory serves me right, in terms of suspension it says in the SCCA rules that you can stay in the stock class with struts (up to two adjustments), front and rear roll bars, any tire as long as it is stock size and on a stock sized rim, and strut tower bar. Only thing is you have to ride stock springs. But that's not the point of autoX, it's about having a blast despite the class you're in!

hehe funny you should mention the SCCA, I happen to be looking over the rules for rallyX right now, stock class is just that stock, no springs no UPGRADED sway bars, not even an aftermrket strut tower bar. I will run in rally prepared as of right now, swaybars, springs (soon to be coilovers and dampiners), strut tower bar, and my exaust and CAI. after I turbo thats A whole other animal, I'll be running up aginst WRXs, evos, and things like that...
