Unplug the halogen bulb and use a hairdryer to blow out the condensation. Let it sit like that for a while before you replace the bulb. You should check your headlight for damage such as cracks and make sure the rubber seal is placed on correctly and airtight. You may have a defective or worn out seal that needs to be replaced.

This is the rubber seal that seals the headlight from moisture. If the headlight itself is cracked around the seal then you can used some silicone to patch it. You might want to remove the headlight completely and inspect it.

Yes you can buy the seals from the dealer.

does the moisture get worse right after you wash your car? if so look for cracks. if you cant find a crack, might be faster to just buy a new housing. my old buick was like that and after 3 month of not figuring out where the moisture was coming from, i just bought some cheap ebay ones.

I think I'm gonna do that. I'll buy the JDM style black housings from ebay (btw, are they all the same? I've seen those from many companies. Some claim to be moisture-proof:(

Those are too expensive. You can get a better deal than that. I paid 156 shipped for mine. Yes, they are all the same.

thanks. that's the one I was looking at.

Anyways... today I took off my left bulb completely and let it breathe for an hour. Then I took a pic. There was no difference at all between the left and the right one (which was still sealed/untouched). I then discovered that the headlight part that was hidden under the hood (top) is very clean. I just think that my headlights are plain dirty and "dust incrusted". I'll need to sand them and put some plastic compound.

Here is a close up, you can see the difference:

Do NOT sand them. You can end up doing more harm than good. All you need to do is to clay, polish, and wax them just like you do when you detail a car. I did that on my old corroded headlights and that turned them crystal clear. After that initial cleaning, maintain that look every week with Meguiar's PlastX plastic restorer and protector. Also remember to rewax them every once in while. If the dirt still manages to come back, claying with get it off.

Hey... I don't want to wax my headlights every week for the rest of it's life! lol I have some other things to do you know! lol

Hmm for the sanding part, it's a tutorial that I saw on another forum and apparently it works very well. Like very fine sandpaper.

clay is not a bad idea though... how do your "polish" a car??

Jesus christ... I'll never stop spending on that car! :( lol (at least it's not mechanical repairs)

You don't have to wax it every week. The wax seals the headlight finish and protects it from the elements. You would only have to do it whenever you detail your car. You can buy polish from your local auto parts store. It's what you use to really bring out the shine in your paint after you use scratch remover and before you wax.

wetsanding? pardon me for not being familiar with that term but is that sanding with regular sandpaper and washing it with the hose at the same time?! if so... what grain of sandpaper should I use?
