    mods for a 20v Blacktop 4AGE

    Hi All,
I have just bought a 20V 4AGE Motor for my Lotus Seven, and I was wondering what mods are possible?
I dont want to go too extreme though (Still want to maintain reliability)!
I already have modified exhaust manifold and free flow box.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Gimme
    :)

If I'm an idiot and your dumber then I am. What does that make you? A moron?

Asking if his name is Gimme is just for playing around. Unless you don't understand that much of the human psyche.

Neways. What makes sense is that you have a 20v 4age engine and you don't live in this country. Most people around here don't have one in their car, especially someone that has 1 post, their first thread.

Back to the topic. There's a whole slew of things you could do. It's just how much money do you have, willing to spend rather, on this project total.

Well, I am quite pleased that my first thread has caused quite a conversation! (are most of you in the states?)

Anyway, I want to keep it normally aspirated, but I have heard that there are some things that work well on other motors that dont work well on the blacktop.
The first thing I am thinking of doing is gas flowing the head, and maybe a bit of skimming to increase the compression ratio.
What about a mild cam conversion?

I understand the Stock Blacktop produces 115 - 120 KW (154-160 horse power) at the flywheel.
What do you think the above mods would push it up to?

am I doing these things in the right order?

    Gimme ;)

p.s. I am trying to get my 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) to be under 5 seconds.
without the driver my car weighs in at about 570 KG (1254 pounds)

    ok - sorry -
115-120 KW = 154-160 Horsepower (at the flywheel)
    0-100 KM/h = 0-60.4 mph

    Gimme :)

    will edit the other post....

If you want to go for that type of speed, you can try turbocharging it...but its likely to blow under hard driving. I wish they sold radicals over here. 70 kg less than your car, but 180 more hp, and pulling 2 g's on the skid pad....talk about leaving your whole skeleton behind.

Basically a gigantic go kart. But the sr3 and sr4 are street legal in europe. Cant wait to see what there v8 (f1 style, high reving, loads of power, and I believe less than 3 L) project creates. I don't think you'd see one around your area, unless you have a race track close by that has trackdays frequently. Plus a very rich guy to import the car/parts.

Hey is it true autos are less expensive than manuals there?

    Awesome for track days!

They look REALLY nice, but they also look a bit impractical for the road with the low ground clearance?

Definitely alot of bang for your buck!

It is good, and really cheap too if you are in South Africa (for a second hand one). The reason is that in japan, once a car has done about 60 000 KM, they struggle to keep the engine within their tight emission regulations, and then they have to just replace them with the newer model. The old ones are shipped here to South Africa (and possibly where ever you are) since we have less stringent emission regulations.

    I got mine (+-70 000 KM) for R 4950 = $ 753 (@ 6.57 exchange rate).

stock, it should produce about 160 HP at the fly wheel

What mods are you thinking of doing?
