    Modified Stock Intake

So yeh I mentioned this within another thread and I was wanting to get more replies. This is for the 00-02 vvt-i's dunno if it would work with the others

What I was thinking was to either hook it up with out the piping and bottom half of the air box (this way you get the filter and the maf). Find a way to secure it upwards and secure the filter inside so it doesn't drop. Dunno about performance but I know lifting the stock intake gives the meanest sounding intake

Another Idea would be to take all the piping out and dremel parts of the bottom of the box out. This will also allow more air to be sucked easily, and provide easy mounting for the filter and the airbox.

Both of these are SRI's I am not a fan of CAI and think its a hoax. Air has to travel much farther with the same vacuum pressure. It may be colder but I feel less air is making it.

Now I may try this in 4k miles when it comes time to change my Weapon R filter. At which time I will dyno it to see if there is any change in power, high or low. Expect a new post in 4 or 5 months lol. And I'll take pics for the DIY too.

Make a hole in front of the stock intake, drop a TRD filter in that, figure out where the air is going on your hood and walla ram air :).

But, thats just an idea. Just get a cover for your intake on rainy days
