    mistake with airbox but rewarding

hey i was looking under my hood resterday and i took off my air box cover because i had a k@n cone filter that fits a mustang. it had the ung for the air mass sensor but it didnt fit right. so i went inside to grab me and my freind something to drink and i told him to close everything up. later that day we left to go to kfc fore some snackers, "those things are addicting" but i noticed a sound difference and my eccerleration was a bit faster. when i pulled into kfc i looked under the hood and found out he put the air box lid on but didnt clamb it with the metal hooks. if your running a stock intake i recomende you test it out. for the time being im going to stay like this untill i can aforde a injen cai.

Wait, you have the stock airbox in but not secured? Do you even have the filter on there? I certainly hope you aren't just sucking unfiltered air into your car. Also, not securing the box also means that even if you do have the filter on, it isn't secured, therefore leaving the possibilty that you will still be sucking in unfiltered air. I suggest you DO NOT stay like that because you'll fuck up your car before you can afford an injen cai. If that was the case, why have an SRI when you can just unhook everything!

yea well.. if he wants crap to get it an tear up his cylinder walls etc., then let him keep it up. i'm not gonna pay for his 1,000 mile oil changes, his cases of engine restorer, or his 02 sensors as they keep failing from all the oil...

Yeah, that's not too nice. I've seen people run with no filter simply because they didn't know better.

you , you can bore out your engine that way!!

all you gota do is get a bucket of sand, and pour it into the stock airbox, remove the filter, and turn on your car! the sand will be rushing through all the manifolds and stuff at such a high velocity it will make your intake manifold a lot bigger! for more airflow!!!

go for it, you've def. got the initiative.
