i agree...cuz the matrix wheels are pretty heavy also..they're liek 48lbs with tires compared to teh 15stockers with tires at 38lbs...and have u been driving harder cuz u have a CAI? cuz i have a CAI and ive been getting liek the near teh same Mpg as before

I don't see why it made that much of a differece, I get 300-320 (28-29 mpg) with the TRD s/c, exhaust, and 18" TRD rims. I was getting simmilar when I had TRD cai instead of s/c. I do mostly city driving(60%) When I do more highway I get 350+ (32+ mpg)

Contrary to popular belief, N/A setups do not, in theory, increase your gas mileage. As your engine lets in more air, your ECU pumps in more fuel to keep the stoichiometric (spelling?) rate ideal. This is what gives your more hp/tq. You can see some increase in mileage when driving a lot of highway miles but that is because you are cruising and your engine doesn't have to work as hard to maintain your speed.

Just out of curiousity, what is your typical drive? Mostly city? Aggressive? And heavy rims can reduce your mileage as well. Just look into physics and how rotating mass works.

ok i do allot of highway driving and a little city driving but my gas miledge has always been better with my CAI and even now with my magnaflow exhaust im adveraging about 450 miles to a tank...... when i do all highway i get nearly 500 if not more. but if i drive around the city racing from light to light i only get about 320.... i think its all in the way you drive and probably the gas you use.

Something y'all forgot to mention... wind and rolling resistance. Wider tires produce more aerodynamic drag as well as increased friction (from the wider contact patch). In addition to the aforementioned traits of larger wheels (heavier, more rotational weight), wind/rolling resistance can lead to lower fuel economy. Don't believe the hype? Just look at the specs for any Hybrid car... skinny/thin, small rubber donuts.
