it sounds like it might be a problem in the nossle of the spray gun, it might be making the paint bunch up and spit on your car rather than ionizing(?) it.. check your air pressure as well. if not check the paint mixture.

    Messed up on painting

Just got done painting the car, we painted it in my garage ( not the best place I know), but after letting it dry and I checked on it. I noticed small bumps everywhere, and they were rough. I imagine something got in the paint. I tried buffing it out, but nothing worked. The paint supply store said I need 1200 grit sandpaper and just get all the bumps out and then re paint it. Does anyone have any ideas???

ya tell me about it, but I went ahead and started sanding w/ 320 grit instead of 1200 but it's coming out so far just hard work. I've only got enough paint for 1 coat, so I hope it goes well

yeah wet sand it lightly, supposed to after you paint to even it out, then buff it. if it's that bad then respray that spot and do it again

another thing when you are all finish painting use 1400-1600 grit wet sand paper to finish the process and then do a good buff job too it. Remeber lots of water :)

thanks for the help, their is just so much shit in the paint job as of right now that I dont understand. We are going to try to respray it once we get it all out, but I dont understand where it is all coming from. WE sprayed down the floor and covered up the walls. I dunno

aye the environment is a big factor, de-humidiifiers and fans blowing out of the garage to suck fumes and dust out as well. basically like a sanitary hospital when painting lol

First off why didn't you just pay a little extra and get an actual paint booth. I'm sure you got dust and other small things under the paint that caused that. Best place is just taking your time with some very light sand paper, also use water and just scrub. Don't use a buffer, and don't do it in circles. Also when you do an edge be very careful, since the edge is the part with the least amount of paint. Best place to get more info would be http://www.advanceautoparts.com/how...S20030601CS.htm Hopefully this can help you out, and if you ever paint another car, don't do it in a garage.

I'm low on cash, I quit my job like a month ago and I had just enough for paint so I decided to get it. We did have a fan blowing out the garage to help w/ the paint, and I guess we didnt try our best to cover up the place so dust and ect. would get in the paint. Let me see if I can get pictures of what it looks like
