    Martial arts..

I know there was a topic on this but it must have been deleted.

Anyways, I got into this security thing with a local club promoter and he uses me whenever the club doesn't provide security. I was speaking to my friend from NJ who's the head of security at a club/bar up there. He told me to be extra careful with the way I handle people.

He went on telling me a story about when he first started doing security, some guy that was bigger then him went to hit him and as a reaction, he knocked him in the nose (broke it) and the guy flew back. Cops came, charges were pressed and he had to go to court. Long story short, the guy dropped the charges against my friend. he said ever since then, he started brazilian jiu-jitsu and has followed it saying it works well when he has to handle someone at his job.

Do you think jiu-jitsu is the best style to learn for self defense? I know there are different styles out there and I'm not sure if there is a style that is more effective than jiu-jitsu. Or would jiu-jitsu be the best for close contact situations?

Aikido is the best for close encounters. You are taught techniques whereas size doesnt matter when in a hairy situation.

    Aikido FTW
