    MAP sensor relocation

I have a 98 Corolla with MAP sensor. The throttle body on this car is 50 MM. The 2003+ Corolla have the less restrictive plastic reinforced intake manifold with a 54 mm throttle body. You will see what I mean from the pics I posted. I want to swap mine for the 03+ intake manifold with throttle body. I know this can be done from Vamp's DIY page, but the 99 and earlier models have the MAP sensor. The 2000+ throttle bodies do not have a place for the MAP sensor to plug in on the throttle body since they switched over to a MAF sensor. What can I do? I'm thinking relocation in the intake. What do you guys think?

wait, I think the MAP sensor measures air pressure from inside the manifold as in after the butterfly valve on the throttle body. Therefore, if I relocate it on the intake then it would give false readings because the stock location is right behind where the butterfly valve closes. grrrrrr

just T off a vacumm line... if there is no place to T off then get a barb fitting in a hardware store.. the drill is your friend.

    LOL

for some reason i got this mental picture of you holding a drill and pulling the trigger on it while having this psychotic look on your face.

As JS said, you can just T off a vacuum line. (ive done this before and am considering doing the same mod you are) As long as you have vacuum going to the MAP sensor you're fine. :)
