Making moon roof like driver side window

Anyone good with electrical systems, relays, diodes, and such have any ideas on this? I don't like the fact that to close the moon roof, you have to hold the button til it closes halfway, then hold it again so it closes all the way. Firstly, I'd like to do away with this safety precaution altogether, so when I hold the button, the window just closes with no interruption. I believe other feel as I do on this.

Also, there must be some way to make that moon roof's opening action similar to the way the driver's side window works. Press the button once, and the window just opens all the way, without having to hold it.

However, that would be two separate mods to the system. Once to make a single button push open the moon roof, and the other to disable to halfway closed pause.

If anyone has some idea on how to modify this circuit, or some technical info on how the drivers side window system works, please share it. Thanks.

an easy way to do that would be:

take out the circuit for it that is in there now. add a NC switch to each end of the travel distancew of the moonroof. Then wire up a new relay that has a timer on it. Good for 30 seconds or however long you need it. When the roof gets to the one end it will trip the NC switch thus openign the circuit and canceling the open function. Then to close it you just push the button again, your other timed realy will start closing it till it hits the NC switch at the other end. this again would hit the circuit open and shut it down.

I think you are about to vause a LOT of prblems for yourseld though to do this. You will need full access to the whole roofline. So the whole liner needs to come down. You will need to spend about $50 - $100 for all the relays and switches, and then you just saved yourself a little bit of hastle.

I havtn looked at what stops the sunroiof at the half way mark to say how you can get rid of that. But I bet there is some sort of sensor or switch to know that its at half way. Just remove that sensor and you should be good.
