What is this? The tryouts? If you're looking for someone to do it for free then you're out of luck. Installing a lsd is not easy.

    Lsd

I'm looking for someone who has the professional experience to install a LSD. I live in Southern New Jersy. I have a 01 Corolla. You must have experience with installing LSD in corollas and have a professional shop.

I think you went way overboard on this comment. I agree with what crulejaypee said. He never said anything about it being free. He's just looking for someone to install his LSD. :ugh:

Ok yes I went overboard and I'm sorry. It's just that I don't know of anyone with professional shops on here besides Dr. Tweak, so the expectations were really high. The best way to find a mechanic to do it is to seek them out instead of having them come to you.

LSD is nice to have if you are doing auto cross or something similar. you don't need a turbo to need an LSD. Depending on which LSD you get, you can dramatically change the way your car handles around corners. You can reduce the understeer of a car and still corner really fast without worry about the car going all crazy. On a corolla with a 1zz though, I would say 1 way LSD is fine. 1.5 way is unnecessary unless you get a more powerful engine. Too bad KAAZ doesnt make an LSD for a corolla. I like that company the most. :)

How much is it to install one. Tearing apart the tranny is costly if I remember correctly. And with the price of the lsd, the total cost would be around 1000. Now that is quite a bit of cash.

well installing an LSD isnt too hard especially if the LSD was designed specifically for that car. most people screw up the LSD during the actual breaking-in of the LSD. but yeah, if you were to get someone to do it for you, you'll be looking at least 1000dollars. That is also with a good LSD. I've seen some no-named brand LSD's (not for the corolla but for other applications) where the LSD costs about 400dollars but those break so easily..

I accept your apology and appreciate your comment. As we speak, Dr Tweak has my 01 Corolla to install a Turbo kit w/ intercooler, Greddy emanage system, etc. My plans are to install the LSD to have more control while corning and better traction during adverse weather since I’m increasing the boost. I’m also planning to rebuild my 1ZZ-FE engine and increase the boost from possible 8psi to 20psi. We are doing great things with the corolla.

Yeah once again, sorry. I didn't take it from your perspective. I look forward to seeing the car when its complete. hehe

when i had my 4age sivlertop installed a year ago, i never noticed it was LSD, until i got to knw about em, and what sucked was that i used ordinary gear oil and bam, my LSD got messed up, so i had to have it rebuilt again... i hate em LSDs since my ride is only daily driven for the moment... :(

    ALOT of getting use to....

Let's say your cruising and you decide to overtake a car to the left. Just when you change lane the road wasn't smooth and leveled as you thought. So your left wheel has more traction and your LSD does it's work, your car starts pulling to the left. You try to counter-steer it then the road becomes level again as you try to pull the steering wheel back to the right.

So, you really have to get used to that stuff...

I dont believe its that bad. I"ve driven an AE101 with a 1 way diff and it was about as bad as putting on some stiff suspension and a rear sway. I think you may be confusing yourself with race spec diffs
