    Looking for some advice

I've got this rather wierd and kind of freaky situation going on and I'd like some advice on it. About 6 months ago or so, this guy emailed me asking about getting his car (AE86) worked on. Basically it needed some tuning and whatnot. So I was working with him over email and so on.

Well some time goes by and I finish the 2ZZGE swap, and then we have a meet down in NH. So I go down and he goes as well, we meet, set up a date for him to bring his car up. He gives me this nice header for his car that he wants installed, and he actually gave me $350 toward the work on his car.

Now, keep this in mind: this is one of those people who, once they find someone who will help them out with questions and whatnot, is always emailing or calling you. I mean, I seriously got like 4-6 emails a DAY from this guy for about 6 months. Not that I minded, most of it was "Hey, what do you think of this or that part for my car", but the point is that this guy was constantly in touch with me.

So we have it all set up for him to bring his car up on the 9th of April, and it's very important because he's putting his car into Hot Import Nights in Boston on the 30th and it needs to be ready for then. So anyway, it's April 8th and he emails me saying that he's bringing the car up "tomorrow".

That's the last I heard from him. This guy just fell right off the face of the earth. No calls, no emails, no posts on any of the forums (he was a regular poster on other forums), nothing. Just vanished. And I've got this header of his and like $350 of his.

Now obviously I'm going to wait a while before I do anything, but I'm just wondering how long I should wait. I mean, I wonder if something happened to him or what. And what should I do with his stuff?

I did manage to dig up his phone number in an old email tonight (I never called him), so I'm going to try that tomorrow in case he for some reason just stopped going online.

    Thoughts?

It seems like he just vanished from planet earth. I think you should hold on to his stuff for 90 days. That's what all the big companies do (No refund/return after 90 days; if you dont pickup _____within 90 days, _____ will belong our property). I think you should start counting.

Anyways, contact him tomorrow and see what happened to him.

Yeah, usually 90 days, then the stuff is yours.
But try calling him...maybe he lost his internet access, or some other situation.

    Update

Hey all, I've got some good news. I called that number today and it turns out he was in New York for the past few weeks, and he just got back. He also moved at the same time and hasn't gotten internet access yet. I guess he's been real busy with exams or whatever.

So everything's all good and he'll be bringing his car up this summer.

    :)
