IS300 is a lot cheaper than the 330i. After comparable option packages added to both, around $10k. Yet, IS300 has a much better resale and retains it's value much more.

I was pissed off when I went to this BMW message board and they thrashed the IS300 very badly so I decided to see the opinion of people on this board. It would be more much more impartial in comparison since none of us has an IS300.

IS300. Price diffrence. 35200K for the BMW, starting for the one you are talking about. Compared to 29K. The diffrence alone can get you a ton of mods. Build quality is about the same, resale value almost about the same. For the price, Ill take the IS, for the car, uh oh......the bimmer. Only cuz my wife drives one.

Its a bit biased IMO, and the origional post was "which car would you pick"... not which car would you want to buy and make payments on (I noticed ppl talking price). The Bimmer, hands down. They are just better cars period. If your ever sat in a 330 you'd know why my choice is what it is.

i have sat in a 330i before, and i just didn't like it.

then again, i've danced this dance before. i was going on in another post why i'd choose Lexus over BMW anyday.

    i'd choose a GS over a 5series.
    i'd choose the LS over a 7series.

    simple phrase: i'm biased.

the only thing that would have me consider is the M. not the M3 though. only the M5.

of course, i'd take an Alpina anyday over any Lexus.

but as far as their regular lineup. as i said before. i'm biased. Lexus for me.

    IS for sure..

i think it's "car and driver" said that a 6 month old BMW 7 series has more problem then a 8 year old Lexus...

which means, BMW is not as reliable as you think..

    330i.

simply cuz i think the is300 is an overpriced civic. i'd rather take the luxurious (sp?) look of the 330i over the is300. the interior in the 330 0wns the is300. yea just not a fan of the is300. IMO i think its a shame that its a lexus

plus my gf drives the 330i.

ditto. I sat in an IS300 at an autoshow and I was very dissapointed. I've both driven and riden in a 3-series and it's just the better car IMO.
