    Launching

Ok this is one area that I have a lot of trouble in. What have you guys found to be the best way to launch our cars. Everytime I try I just spin the damn tires and dont go anywhere. I was reading on newcelica.org about guys droping the clutch at 6 grand and barely chriping the tires. I drop the cluth at 2500 and im all over the place lol. So lets discuss eachothers techniques with what works and doesnt work

in the old days lol.. im old.... for front wheel drive vehicles

put in 1st gear stepping on clutch of course
get to know the clutch especially with racing clutch
rev to about 3500 (if i remember correctly)
then let go clutch 1/2 way quickly u know just like when u are driving up a hill

then full out let go of clutch.... let it rip

but the tires also plays part of it and smaller rims in addition to light rims
a bit wider in the front ( just a bit maybe 215) then 205 at the back

most dragster have smaller rims from what i saw back then....

some even have 16 x 7 in front and 15x 6.5 at the back

just my 2 cents the

i just hit it off idle in my automatic and wait for the turbo to spool.... if i has drag radials i could maybe build boost and then go... but i dont think the torque converter or the front axel would like me much. This is why i love the turbo :)

...I launch around 3000 - 4000RPM, I find 3500RPM to be ideal. W/the engine mount inserts it just spins a little and goes, i haven't had a chance to try it at the track though.
