    lambo/suicide doors

i was thinking of a door setup...

lambo door for the front 2 doors
suicide door kit for the rear two doors

you guys think it will look good?

also, with the shaved door handles...are lambo/suicide doors able to open up with a remote?

That's the only way for doors that have shaved handles to open man.

As far as I know...only true lamborghini's have doors that open directly up. ...all the generic lambo kits will open out about 2 inches and then go up. Suicide doors open just like regular doors except from the opposite side.

Shaving the door handles will force you to need a solenoid that pops the door open remotely.

They all aren't. But I didn't say all lambo doors were shaved. :) You know what be sweet? Love the front doors the same, suicide the back ones and shave all the handles off. That'd be sweet.

Lambo doors arent a whole door. Its just new hinges that make it open up like that. You still use your current door. You can then decide to shave them or not. Same goes with suicide but you would have to relocate the door handle for it to work. IMO it is not worth the time and money. I would rather invest in a turbo than lambo and suicide doors. Unless your going for a show car...then it all goes my friend lol. If it is a daily driver or you drive it quite a bit, dont do it.

hmm yeah, if only i had a two door i'd def. do a lambo kit.
suicide door kits go for about 300-370ish.
but that wont be happening for a while lol..cf hood, tint, etc. comes first.

Lambos are way too played and looks tacky on our rollas, I suggest shaving the doors and suiciding the rears.

Doesn't matter if the doors are shaved or not - if you get water to freeze in the weatherstripping - the door will not come open (handles or not). Some people will say that you could get more leverage off a handle - but I wouldn't want to try with a Corolla's plastic handle deal (pull up type on the 8th gen and earlier or the pull out type on the 9th gen). Could be easily fixed with stronger door poppers - but the ones that have now are pretty strong (most kits I've seen have 20-40lb rated door poppers - that will push out even the heaviest doors).

If you are going for some show - I would go shaved or the suicide rear doors. That fits the sedan body style much better than the lambo doors. Want to get real crazy - how about gullwing doors, ala DeLorean (just tie the doors together so they open in one piece).

first...I personally don't think it would look good. I'm still a big maybe on suicide doors but definately not lambo. If its a daily driver, I wouldn't do either.

Also, cold season isn't the only thing u have to worry about. What happens if you lock ur key in the car and the windows are closed? and there's no spare remote to open the doors near by? what about if your battery dies and the poppers won't work?

There are alot of things to consider if you shave the door handles. I've seen people get stuck oustide their car cause of it and I also heard of one guy having to break his window to get in cause he had no choice but to do it.

maybe i'm just overreacting but you gotta think about things like that as well.

There's usually a safety switch located somewhere on the vehicle in case you do lock your keys in your car. Ask Vortex about it...his first Rolla had the handles shaved.

Now in situations like mine, where my alarm automatically sets after 15 seconds, and the doors automatically lock after 17...:( I don't have an outside switch to save me. I gotta call my old man and ask him to bring my spare remote. :)

iin regards to the doors freezing... When I lived in Tahoe my doors froze all the time, and not necessarily in the closed position (try driving in the snow with bungee cords holding the door closed until it warmed up...)

Anyways, if you want to shave the handles and live in the cold... I would reccomend a remote start so that you can warm up the car and all the seals before you get to it... that sohould work alright.
