    ksport in the house!!!

Well I just got my ksports last night. Gonna try to get them installed today. As for the problem with the rear sway bar link, they fixed it!

Its no longer "held" in place with screws, it has threads now, so you can thread it up or down and the best part is, the corolla ksports come with not 3, not 4 BUT 5 (five) collars for each of the rear suspensions. So basically theres no way anything can move!

Although what are those black peices for thats in the bag??? Theres a hole on one end and an open end on the other. Anything ideas???

I'll try to get pictures of it, but most likely I can't them before the install because I left my cam at a friends house. But so far so good.

hey, they finally changed the rear sway link! when i bought the ksports 6 months ago, it only had 3 collars for each rear. i told them they need to change that, and they sent me 2. i have some posts of my old rear ksport setup with the new linkages and collars.

the black thing is for the brake lines. i didn't use them, i just ziptied the brake lines to the strut.

yeah i did a whole bunch of postings for ksports. read them check them out. hopefully you won't make the same mistakes i did. congrats on the new suspension

I don't trust their bbk. even their coilovers are kinda iffy.

I can't wait until I can order me a set too. How much did you get them for? Is it still at the group buy price of 800ish?

    GB still good.

Just slapped the slide kontrol on to the ae86. Went to together flawlessly, didn't know that I had to change the shock cartridge with the ksport ones. Took it out and had it slammed and to the stiffest settings and all I can say is, its sickening its sooooooooooooooo stiff!!!!

The ae86 was always planted though and the tires side wall (stock 14) started to flex. Need new tires.

As for the 98 kontrol pro, its going on tomorrow or on saturday.

BTW just wanna send a big thumbs up for Wei at jinsu power, awesome seller!!!! Will do business with again if I ever need anything else.

So would you personally back Ksports from your experiences? I still think I'm going to get them.

Depends on the site you go to, its about 50/50. They been out in the US for only 2yrs but they been out in Taiwan for about a decade. I was thinking about getting them back in the days after doing loads of research (search ksport on this site and you'll see I was the first to mention that brand 2-3yrs ago) but decided to get a more reputable brand. However a few buddies of mines got them and I helped with the install.. It's what it is for $700.

Well the coilovers are getting good feedback. They are a newer company so it wouldn't have much history behind them.

ok i've done more reseach and notice no one really slammed their rides with these ksport coilovers, is there a reason to this?

I notice when I slam the front a huge chunk about an inch or two of the tube protrudes, is this safe?

BTW i'm running 17" RH C5 on 205/40 (or 45) which ever is the thinner one.

as long as there's no interference with other suspension components it's ok.. kindof. It's safe for the coilovers but other components like balljoints, axles, etc are known to wear out faster the more you lower it beyond factory specs.

Would I get ksports personally?.. probably not. Reason being I like the built quality of my own setup and many say it rides better even at higher spring rates. But ksports are still about half the price of more reputable companies; ie Tein, Cusco, Tanabe, etc.

it'll fit 93-02. The product is marked for offroad use only so it dosen't need to meet DOT requirements.

no. and in reply to the post above yours i can't slam my car low b/c of my body kit. and the way you lower ksports is by rotating the strut shaft downward and locking it with the collars supplied. that's how i lower my car. the strut shaft does stick out from the bottom, but you don't want it too close to the cv boot

got 17"'s i hope it does. if they dont clear 17's theres really no reason to sell em for the corolla , cause 18's are way too big.

Is there a time limit for the group buy. It seems like its been going on forever. I have to wait a bit longer before I can place my order.

I think the reason its rubbing is because 17s are a bit big for a corolla.

ok i just installed my ksports and have learned a few things.

    1. 17 inch rims (offset not specific to corolla)- DONT put too much negative camber or else rim or tire will hit the collar. DON'T put too much positive camber or tire will rub on fender that is slight rolled. You will need to completely roll the fender to get the tire to be completely flushed with the car.

    2. Dam thing is pretty stiff! Which is a big upgrade from ground controls.

    3. Brake line retainers pretty straight forward would of been nice if it was welded on but its fine.

I got the dampening cranked all the way to the hardest and spring preload I hand tightened. I say its worth the money. I hung every corner I could and the car stayed planted!
