    Kestion - Legal Independence?

    I have a brother in law who is 15 and his mother is, well, suffice to say not motherly. My wife and I have decided if he wants he can live with us. Everyone has tried what they could to rebuild the relationship's in the household but his mom is whack. Anyways, so I know there's a way for a 15yr old to become legally dependent. I just can't find any info on it.

    Anyone?

    Find a family oriented lawyer. You want the child to be ruled independent, or an emancipated minor. It isn't something like a form you fill out, you'll be involved in the legal system for a while.
