    Eh, not bad but overpriced. I'm getting Garmin Mobile XT with a dashboard dock for my PDA to use for GPS. Less than $300, and I'll have full GPS and I can use it outside of my car. ;)

    Yeah, it's overpriced. Plus in a couple years, it will be obsolete. With portable units, you can just sell the old and buy a new one. If you go through with this, you're stuck with it.

    Portables with SD card slots are the best. Download the latest software every couple of years, and you're good. But, rollatuner, you can upgrade the HDD maps, too. You just have to find a local shop that sells that brand and they can upgrade the maps on the HDD. Pain in the butt, and more expensive.
