thanks drunk that helps a ton
also out of curiosity, someday if i wanted to totally change the outside color of my car, getting a new kit or whatever, do you know how much that would cost? also are there any downsides to totally changing the exterior color, like do you have to re-paint alot?

just needing a little help/new to car modding ;[

    sup guys
well im new here and dont knwo too much about this shit

but im deffinately interested in a white or black corolla s, but have questions about the car and other shit before i buy it

now i know theres a lot i could do with it, but it all seems so confusing right now lol

alright well i like the altezza tail-lights, but is it right to liek get headlights that match with it, if u install the tails? or does it not matter

also i dont know shit about matching the colors of rims with the car

so pretty much im looking for just ideas right now of what kinda colors and rims and stuff would work with a black OR white corolla s,

im leaning towards getting a black, but im not sure

i hope this makes some kinda sense..
    thanks much guys

Well first of all, please be a little more careful with how you state things. I know it may be a habit but using the word "shit" after every other sentence will probably not get you too far.

That is great that you are interested in a corolla. As far as tail lights, I would say its usually personal preference. I have seen people with altezza style rear lights and then smoked and the fronts, they just smoke it without replacing it to give it a blanced look. If you check out www.cardomain.com, you can see what others have done with their cars and you can kinda pick out what you like and do it to your car.

As far as the wheels go, check out www.tirerack.com and see how different wheels will look on your car. It a great site where you can visually get an idea of how your car will look.

I hope this helps. And btw, welcome to vvti.net.

you could buy pre smoked headlamps on ebay and stuff or you could try doing it yourself. You can get all the materials and stuff from your local auto shop place like autozone or pepboys. the only downside is if you do it yourself, it may not look as good and if you decide to buy aftermarket, like any aftermarket, you may not have the quality that the oem part has. I've seen many people with aftermarket lights which started to get moisture inside the housing and burnt out the bulb and stuff.

Well if you're going to change the color of your car you're of course going to need to repaint a lot. It's going to be a new color! A new point job can be expensive if you want a good quality job. I know you can get a cheapo paint job from Earl Schieb or Maaco but it won't look too well. I think you can get a pretty good paint job and deal from 1 Day Paint and Body.

repaint the whole car is really expensive. It's around US$2000-3000 for a good paint job.
For a bad low quality one is around US$1000.

You can get a paint job cheaper than 1000. A couple hundred dollars has you covered. A good paint job would be around 500+. 2000-3000 is too much.

i think its also where you live. where i live, i can get a decent job done for aroud 800.. which is 10 times better than macco and stuff. spend 2000 and you can get a super nice job done. more country areas though, it may cost you a lot more.

Wow that's really cheap in your location!!! Is it included engine bay and all those door jam and stuff?
It cost over $200 just to paint the bumper here in my location!

its tough to find someone who will do it for under 500.. unless they do a terrible job. like macco. a decent job will still be around 800 i think for the full car and having some hook ups with the armenians or mexicans who has shops.. i would spend $1500 or so for my car though just so i know paint wont chip off so easily and i know there are enough clear coats to help protect the car.

Yeah. Over here you can get a paint job for 200 if you want but it wouldn't be that good. Half a grand will buy you a pretty decent paint job. Anything 1000+ would be something from House of Kolor with something like few coats of paint and a couple of clear.

Ok to clear things up: rim = wheel
When you purchase wheels for your car, you will need new tires unless your wheel sizes are the same, which is most likely not.

    thanks for the help guys
loool wow repainting seems like a hassle and since im 16 i doubt im gonna have that money for a paintjob
its just that i love red on a car, but a certain red, youknow the audi kinda red, a bright sharp red, i love that, but corollas dont have that option.

    another thign
when your buying new rims for your car, are you actually buying just rims for it or a whole wheel with a rim, you cant just like buy a new rim right?
