    Job Decision

I have to make a decision soon about a job...

Where I am right now, it is a contract for 6 months (it is ending on Dec. 3rd).

I have an interview Monday somewhere for a permament job, but the wages would be about %15~17 less than what I make now (but its permanent).

But, where I am now, they offered to extend my contract another 6 months (which is a good sign here, after talking to other people here, like one girl get her contract extended twice, and now they have her full time). The pay is pretty good, its unionized, has great benefits, and guaranteed raisees twice a year when you are full time (if I got on full time here, i'd try to make this place my career, thats how good it pays if you are here for a few years). But there's no guarantee :|

I say stay were you are now and keep on kicking ass, and then you'll get hired fulltime. 6 months is a lot of time, there will be another fulltime job if you don't get this one.

Thats what my friends and family are saying too... and I must be doing something right if out of 20 people hired on the same contract as me, i'm 1 of 6 that they asked to stay longer...

    Thanks for the input :)

    Good point...

I'm pretty much decided on staying where I am for now, and hoping for something permanent. This place rocks too, excellent hours, you only work one saturday ever 5th week (they are closed on Sundays), earliest shift is 8:00am to 4:00pm and latest shift is 10:00am to 6:00pm... and when you get on permanent, there is a 3.0% raise every january, and every june there is a raise based on performance (can go up to 3.5%, the avg seems to be about 3.0%)... one girl that I know there got $2.16 in raises in 17 months... but damn it's a hard place to get on full-time (alot of people apply for this place)...
