    JDM 4AGZE in NA?

Anyone have a JDM 4AGZE in North America? I'm just wondering how the engine runs with our lower octane fuel (I know the highest i've seen around is 93, and most places are 91), since the JDM 4AGZE (the one that was in the ae92 and ae101) required 100 octane... so just would like some thoughts on that, thanks.

    it's fusionprizm

i'm working on this swap on my mk1 mr2....... i also have a "jdm" smallport 4age in my ae92.... runs fine on 91 octane, as it should

the 4agze would be fine on 91 octane, as it's only 8.9:1 with 10psi

Alright, but I will probably lose a little horsepower from the 170hp rating? prolly down to like ~160 correct?

I can't wait to get this engine, its gonna be fun :) 8 months to go :(

hard to say the crank hp output, as a lot of Japanese motors hp figures really aren't correct to start off with. I'm hoping to be able to tune my mr2 to around 170whp with the stock 10psi, but i'm doubtful (only reason i might be able to do this is because i'm not going to be using the restrictive stock toyota ecu....)

but you won't lose hp because of our gas ratings

u should be fine with 91 or 93 octane.
if it was a high compression ratio engine then it would affect it.
