    ITB's max gain

approximately how much HP can you gain from ITB's on a non-vvti 1zz-fe engine with full exhaust and stage 1-2 cams and standalone? i was considering boosting but now i'm realizing how fragile the motor is aka main and rod bearings need to be upgraded due to a lack of lubrication -> cant be too good for the engine to add a turbo feed along with increasing torque.

you won't gain a whole lot....... on my setup i gained a little torque but no higher HP.... however, it has much better throttle response, and sounds sweet

this is on a smallport 4age running 20V itb's, t3 adapter, and running on a modified 4afe ecu

heh. well i was just thinking of ways to hit 200 hp reliably without spending like 10K. my motor's not looking too clean inside(burned deposts under the oil cap), and i'm not sure if my motor will survive boost. i have 85k on it, and the oil has been changed every 5k. i think the compression is still good, but my bearings might not survive due to all the deposits unless i run a BB turbo which would use less oil and therefore deter oil starvation.
what would you guys recommend i do? i know the bearings cant hold up very long and i would like to put in MWR rod bearings, but what about the main bearings? i thought those can take a beating too especially under boost, and i want to be safe if i boost. putting main bearings in however would require that i take out the engine, and this is my daily driver. and i heard that you cant get very far with NA on this car. a swap is also out of the question because it is time consuming. i'm just really lost in terms of what to do here

it'd be rad to have itb's. itll be loud as hell though. i wonder if theres a way to make it work with the vvt-i 1zz-fe with MAF sensor.

if you mess with the MAF the computer will automatically run in open loop unless you have it continously reset by itself.

use a plenum with the maf on a tube. itb's are not only for multiple inputs. don't forget, the silvertop 20v has itb's and an AFM
