    ITBs!!! (ind. throttle bodies)

    http://www.twminduction.com/Home/Home-FR.html

Ok, this must've been the millionth time, but this time I'm serious. I don't know how much it will cost to achieve the individual throttle bodies but it sure will cost less than buying and installing high compression pistons. I know that on www.homemadeturbo.com they used to have a DIY on how to fabricate a set. Unfortunately, the site went down. I need information and experience on how to link the throttle cable to each of the four throttles. (Is the single throttle cable connected to a rod which in turn opens and closes the throttles all at the same time?) I also need to know how big of throttles I can put on it without bumping into each other. (the guy on homemade used motorbike GSXR throttles.) The good thing about the ITB for the 1zz is that the intake manifold is on the front of the car so cold air will be readily available. Any help will be appreciated.

so is it possible for me do to the same for the 1zzfe? I'm guessing that the materials will cost less than 1000 to do. The labor will be done by me mostly.

    ^^^

same here... i can actually get the TWM adapter plates for quite a good price for any 16V.... and the ITB's themselves are easy enough to get......

one of the bigger problems with most 4age's is the AFM and the TPS..... and in my case (for the ae92) i have neither to worry about ;)

ITB's aren't just about how much HP they make.... it makes for a much freer revving motor.... so, it'll help rev up quicker, and also when using the engine to slow down, it will rev down quicker as well.... makes the car more responsive

ITB's are somewhat hard to setup correctly....

heh.....I read up on itb's for the 2zz-ge. A couple projects were abandoned for them, dunno if it was unsafe to have them or something.

Ross - they were custom fit from a 20V.

w1ngzer - no private investigator, they cost too much money. i DO have people looking for him, but i think it's a loss.

it would be easy if you could find some adapters to fit to the 4afe head.... the port designs are different than the bigport 4a-ge, the smallport 4age, and the 20V's

you will need to somehow connect all four throttles to the same cable. And you'll need lots of money. I emailed the website which i posted above and they quoted me 4000 plus the car has to already be race ready. yeah right I think getting a single bigger throttle will benefit us better. Anyone agree with me?

$4,000 is expensive..... the hardest part would be to have the adapters made... the velocity stacks are pretty simple.... and the adapters could be made to fit a 4a-ge ITB set.....

I doubt 5, I would think 15-20, and that number would go up with more internal work. 4000 seems like a good price to me. Remember its custom work that they have to do. But yeh you would only want to go that way if you want a serious track car or just to be different. I want to, but its too big of a waste of money to me.

Mike-your going turbo I thought? I don't think it would help that much with turbo (unless you went for quad tiny turbos like the 8 turbos on that one vid) Cuz all the forced air is just gonna have to go through runners too, I doubt there would be any gain at all.

i gave them three chances, they messed up all three. they made promises they refused to fulfill.

fortunately not much money was involved.

of course their inability to actually take care of ALL of Derrick's kit(he's being forced to get some of it done elsewhere) sortof helped me in my decision as well.

They are cool people. But the way they kept delaying me, and they were drinking. Also when I emailed them back to find out which wires they switched around, they said I had to call them to find out. Btw Mike bring some extra hotel money, cuz if they put it aside like they did with me they will tell you they'll have to keep it overnight. They told me they could try rewiring it to make sure they didn't mess up, but I would have to leave my car with them overnight.

i don't even mind the beer so much, aside from the fact that Derrick stops by there and drinks before he sees me, often enough.

i just wish they'd have a better work ethic...and would stop making promises they can't fulfill.

no, he's not. he installed the gagues, and he's bought a bunch of the stuff, but they're installing it.

hopefully they'll even do it sometime this century.
