    Is This True???

OK I have a 2003 Corolla A/T and I read on the owners manual about the tranny oil "Use only Toyota ATF. serious damage can occur if not used or something close to that" i dont want to look at the manual again to make it accurate. and also there is this plate on the engine i never follow "equip with iridium plugs" those NGKs suck and I use the german Bosch P4+
tell me if these are true? because my cousins 98 Corolla uses synthetic racing tranny oil

as far as the spark plugs they chose iridium because they last longer than platinum plugs. the tranny fluid can be anything that complies with the ISO standard that toyota should list for their oil.

The 8th generation Corollas (1998-2002) use Dexron-III ATF - the 2003+ Corollas have to used Toyota Type T-IV AFT (different friction modifiers) - they are not compatible with each other. As long as the ATF say meets Type T-IV spec's - then you are good to go. As far as I know - very few aftermarket ones do support it or can be hard to find - might have to buy the Toyota juice for a little while until aftermarket starts to pump them out.

As for plugs - I've found that Denso plugs hold up a heck of a lot better than NGK. I've used Bosch Platinum regulars to +4 and, although they run smoothly, I get better MPG and life with the Iridiums. Performance is the about the same.

my car fucks up if i have anything else other than iridium, why i don't know. it will misfire if i put anything different, as for the tranny fluid i hate changing it or servicing anything on it.
