Is the "Altis Grill" really a Lexus GS 400 grill modified?

No I am not accusing any Ebay sellers, fellow Forum members or anything; I am just trying to solve a mystery...

I have seen folks with chrome grills on www.profile and other sites that have taken the what is described as a Altis Grill ( the Corolla in Taiwan and in other Asian countries is called Altis see- www.altis.com\my ) so they sell it as a Taiwanese Altis grill but I think it in fact a Lexus GS430 Grill, taken the Lexus Logo off, put on a Toyota logo on, and installed it on a Corolla, it looks cool, but you do need to slightly mod it, the center screw is 1/2 inch off center from the mounting hole so you can bend the mounting tab, some say it is in fact a GS430 grill, what do you think?

Again these sellers are fellow 2003.org members, and again I am not accusing him or anyone of anything deceiving, but I want to see is will the GS400 work? And why would an Altis grill need to be modified?

the lexus looking is from OEM toyota altis grills( the REAL OEM PART)

No. The chrome grille with the vertical slats is the grille from the Altis, which is sold mostly in southeast Asian countries. i.e., Taiwan, Malaysia, etc.

I have no idea why the "mesh" grilles are referred to as "Altis" grilles. They are simple "mesh" grilles, something that's been done for ages to make simpler, custom grilles for all kinds of different vehicles.

Toyota makes the Altis version of the Corolla, and it comes with that "Altis chrome grille." They are not "modified Lexus GS series" grilles, though the resemblence is obviously intended. I don't believe Toyota makes an Altis or a Lexus or a Corolla of any kind with the kind of "mesh" grilles we often see in the aftermarket.

i know before 03 altis is came with vertical chrome grills. only 04 new altis has differet grills.

04 looks like a IS300 grill...did they change that only Taiwan and not in Mayalasia? that the Maylay one stayed the same for 03 and 04??

i think they realsed 04 altis in asian country, i did saw 04 in thailand altis-club,
can u post Maylay altis grills?
