    Intake question

I've looked all around Ebay and i can't find any shortram intakes for the 00-02 vvt-i model corollas. I was wondering if an 03+ short ram intake would work on the 00-02 models. anyone please??!

I'm 90% sure. The 01-02 are the same engine, as well as the 02 Matrix. It has the proper porting for the MAF and the VSV. I think it'll work fine. If you're not comfortable with the risk, pay the premium for the Injen.

Do you have anti-lock brakes on your corolla? I have an intake for 00-02 vvti engines but it is a tight fit becuase i have anti lock brakes and the little tubes in the engine bay make it a tight squeeze. . If you dont have antilock brakes i will sell you mine for a good price.

with the injen intake, how much does it change the sound of your car....i mean, does it make it alot louder with a deep sucking noise so that you can hear it alot or is just a slight difference? I just dont want my car to sound like a stupid 89 civic hatchback like everyone else in my town with their fart cans and intakes

Yes it does make it louder. Before I only had exhaust. Adding the Injen was dramatic. However, it does not sound like a fart can. My exhaust is pretty conservative though, it's not one of those huge ones that looks like a 500lb. bomb. The sucking sound you tend to not notice after a week.

yeah- it sounds like an airplane when you first turn the car on in the morning, hissing dramaticallly, but as you drive, the hissing goes away, but you will hear a different sound when your rpms move up the latter... to most people-its extremely sweet sounding- its a real deep growl that only intensifies as your rpms rise..but it will go away once you get an exhaust on there-i cant hear my intake anymore thanks to my catback... i would TOTALLY go with the injen just b/c its got EVERYTHING into consideration-i.e. mounting, sensors, the size and not to mention the sweet look of it too- expect to pay around 180+ bucks!

ok thanks for the advice, i sort of know the sound that your talking about because on my sisters sunfire gt it came stock with a "modified intake" and "sport exhaust" or something like that and it has this deep sucking that sounds really cool and her car sounds really really nice for a 4cyl. Its not too loud but just tough enough. thats what i want my car to sound like but thats a 2.4l and mine is 1.8...

wow man, that's really cheap for an injen intake. too bad that price is only for the polished and not for the black anodized :( . i'll keep a lookout at the injen as soon as i have enough money. right now i only have the money to get those generic ebay ones. Anyone wanna sell their intakes ?!??! :)
