it would probably be no problem setting my cable tension back to normal, but i was just wondering how it would effect my whole cars performance if I left it as is.

    idle messed up

hey guys, i just did vamps throttle body mod on my car. The car definitly feels like it bolts faster and i have more power to the wheels in lower rpms, but my idle feels like its set so high and sounds like its at least at 1000rpm++ when im at a complete stop! how bad is this? should i set it back a bit or should i set it back to stock?

my car idles @ 800rpm but when i start my car up in the morning it starts as high as 1800rpms then lowers gradually to 1200rpms and then jumps down to 800rpms.

check to see if your throttle cable is to tight... what throttle body mod did you actually do ?

well.. you first are gonna used a hell of a lot more gas if you're idleĆng @ 1000+
and i dont think performance wise you're gonna get anything out of this... just try and set it back to normal. I did that same throttle cable mod about a week ago and was scared to tighten it too much... just make sure the throttle knob is not pulled while you're not accelerating. (you might need help of a friend to test it a couple of times)

the throttle plate must fully close against the throttle body when your not moving the butterfly valve- another test: have someone depress the gas pedal to the floor while you look at the flap- make sure its open all the way...if not-then it needs adjustment-
