    Ideling really high

Ok, been noticing this for awhile. When I start up my car, even when its warm (was +3 today... yes thats warm for us canadian/winnipeg folk) my engine idles really high, for about 10 minutes i would say (couldnt say what rpm, dont have my tach in yet, waiting for my A pillar).
Even when you put it into gear, it revs a bunch lower, but at indle speed (obviously automatic)... its kinda fast :)
Just wondering if this is common or not
Compared to some other cars that my family has (neon, malibu, sable, etc ... all domestic crap) i would say it is a lot higher than when those are started.

The ECU sets idle a little higher than normal when it's cold, IIRC. If it settles back down to a normal idle RPM (guess you can't tell, but I it's ~750) after it warms up, then the car should be fine. If it's idling REALLY high though, you just might have yourself a problem. :)

Yea. it's not slap ass crazy stupid high or anything, just higher than normal.
When it's warmed up, or has been driven for a bit, it idles REALLY low ;) get a good vibration/shaking when the brake is on and its in drive.

Meh, you get used to it. We had some -50ish C days here during the middle of winter. Usually around -30 is the norm.
Kinda sucks though, cause you cant really lower your car, or you'llg et stuck in snow, and cant have a big body kit or anything or again, you'll just be ploughing it all. :)

Get coilovers. You can still have the spring rate, but have the car at stock height.

Man thats nice. It's about -20 here right now (night time).
Looks like it should hit about +3-5 on sunday though, which would be great. get rid of a bunch of the snow and ice.

not wear a jacket? in +3?

even if that was in °C, i would still be really bundled up. but, even in 50°F weather, my car will still idle at a pretty high rpm for at least a little while.
