Ice on the inside of my back window

I've got this strange problem with my xrs. I keep getting frost/ice all over the inside of my back window! I cannot figure out where its coming from either. Some days I'll come out to my car, and there will be no frost in the back, I drive to work, and when I get off I come home, and even as soon as 2 hours after I get home I've got frost/water starting to collect on the inside of my back window. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it because its driving me nuts! I usually drive with the defogger on. and turn my rear defrost on as well if there's ice back there. My starter also seems to hold on too long in cold weather and makes a "bwa" noise when its -12 Celcius or colder. I've got an appointment at the dealership for both problems but I figured I would check here too in case anyone else has had these issues. My dealership hasn't been that good at resolving problems so far.

i get that too sometimes with the front windshield.
i find it helps a lot if you wipe and keep your windows clean - for some reason, if you wipe them/keep it clean... condensation don't form on the glass as bad.

another thing i find useful is to cover up the roof and all your windows. i use a big piece of old blanket - if it's not raining. i find this trick helps a lot.

do you have any water in the car? Maybe excess water build up on mats or carpet?

That would cause build up on the windows.

Nope, no water in my car. everything is bone dry except for my windows icing up. I don't know if it makes a difference but I switched to synthetic oil just before winter. There doesn't seem to be any reason i can find. I can use any vent setup the car has, and defog doesn't help.. I think possibly a seal on the back window is not sealed correctly and thats where the problem is coming from because of condensation?

have the window resealed, my work van did the samething, but it wasnt ice, just water would roll in, happened to be old sealant. it deforms, and creates holes in it, causing water to come in slowly, it hasnt really been cold enough here in the past 2 years for it to freeze

Hopefully my warranty covers it. I just bought my xrs in april last year. I don't see why it shouldn't.

never thought of this but you mentioned in the beginning you always drive with your defogger on (front n back). when u use the windshield defogger, does it automatically turn on your a/c?? if it does, that may be a part of your problem.
also when you use your rear defogger and when it's really cold - sometimes it melts the ice outside and condensation starts to form inside and it may look dry to the naked eye but it's not. so leave it overnight or a few hrs in super cold weather - u get frost/ice.

so give both your windows a good wipe and there are stuff in auto parts store that you can buy to prevent windows fogging up and getting frost.

Nope, it doesn't turn on the ac. I have my appointment booked for Mon so if they don't find a solution I will just wipe the back window with something. Windex seems to fog up easy. Anyone got any suggestions from anything they've used? I don't want to have to clean my window all the time since wiping the back window would wreck that coating that melts ice/snow off your window.

    Thanks for the advice.
