Engine I need the AEM CAI specs

    AEM CAI isn't a good model to start off of. You don't really have to put any significant brain power into designing it. Just make sure the MAF sensor is as far away from the throttle body as possible. It can be directly after the air filter, if feasible. The pipe length doesn't matter greatly, either. Just long enough to pull air from somewhere OTHER THAN the engine bay. Pay close attention to the pipe diameter. Make certain it is the SAME size as the stock air tunnel the MAF sensor is housed in. That will ward off lean detonation.

    I need the AEM CAI specs

    I need the specs on the AEM CAI for a 2003+ Corolla because I'm making a custom CAI for my 2001 Prizm. I need the length of the pipe, and the distance the MAF sensor is in relation to the air filter. If someone can get me that it would be real dandy.

    you would get a lot better performance if you re-routed the stock airbox to pull air in from underneath the engine bay. the way to do this is to remove the resonator box, plug up the regular induction hole and it's done. all the air your engine is drawing comes from between the wheel well and engine, a cold air source protected from water by the splashguard. also, you will be usingthe stock airbox which is actually designed to provide optimal power in the low and mid level rpm range. I've actually experimented this on 2 identical (except for the induction system, one had the aforementioned setup and the other a CAI) 2002 corollas driven by me. the custom box setup was definitely quicker.

    Let us know how it works and post pics if you can. I'm considering doing some sort of DIY intake also, so I'd love to see others ideas
