    i/m and t/b question

i did some searches and read some the old threads. And i've read that 00+ celica gt and 03+ corolla mani and throttle body can work on the 01 corolls.

is there a difference between the celica and the 03+ corolla manis + tb?

Why is it that when people do the swap they loose hp. With proper tuning with the emanage it'll work better, but is it still a lost?

And at last diggin up the old thread question.

Metal vs. the plastic manifold. which is better.

from what i've read, the metal 1 performs much better with heat because the heat comes out of the manifold thus having cooler air in the tubing. as for the plastic, its much more bigger so more air flow, but its warm/hot air going 2 the engine b cuz of the plastic material.

    thanx guys.

You might see a little power gain but not much more past the stock power rating on the 1ZZFE celicas.

I think you got it wrong in the heat part. Plastic is better than metal for intake manifold. For any intake parts, heat soak = bad. Cooler the intake, cooler the air.
The heat is coming out from the engine, and then it transfer to the intake manifold, and then it transfer into air. So metal intake manifold make the air hotter than plastic manifold.
The reason why ppl like metal intake manifold just because it LOOKS good and you can make it bling bling.

I'm not sure not it looks like the metal intake manifold runners are a little longer than the ones on the plastic versions.

i'm not planning to boost, gonna go n a on my 1zz. so if i were to slap on the plastic mani and throttle body from the celica, it would be much better then the metal intake mani. But why does derrick, vamp, says that he lost power.

Because its not tuned for that intake manifold. And its not that much better.

so basically, if i slap on an emanage system and turn the air/fuel ratio, then i'tll be working like it suppose to with minor gains. i am gessing 2-4 hp?

Maybe a little more than that but its not the best bang for the buck.

My question is why do you want to spend half a grand or more to gain an insignificant amount of hp? You might as well spend it on a turbo kit or better yet another car.

Fixed your ricer mistake. A corolla has one head, there for one header.

We all love our Corollas, but you have to remember this: you can't turn horseshit into ice cream.
The Corolla (as it stands now) is nothing but a grocery getter. Not enough aftermarket support or worthwhile engine swaps out there. If you want a fast car, save up. I'm just keeping my car a little more fun than stock, but saving up for a new car at the same time.
