    I have an audio problem

I have a kenwood KDC-MP225 head unit, I installed it myself and its been perfect for over 4 months now. Two weeks ago i decide to hook up an amp and subwoofer to it (i did it myself too) and its been workin perfectly until this morning my back speakers stopped playin and all i heard was the fronts and the sub..after a while the speakers came back on..thenthey stopped again and i heard a small pop sound and everyhting turned off. The fuse in the head unit is blown, but the inline fuse on the power cable for the amp and the actual fuse in the amp are still good.

So what could have made my H.U. fuse blow like that?

Make sure your grounding for that new amp is a good ground point. I know some amps if they're not getting a good ground they will use any other ground that they can get and that can mean the ground off the sub input - which would blow a fuse in the HU. Other than that - if nothing else has changed - it could be a one time kinda thing.

Check behind your head unit and make sure there are no wires chaffed or exposed that could ground out and blow your head unit fuse. The unit is pulling to much current for some reason, so check the wire harness thoroughly and power wires for the head unit. If the wires are good, he problem is internal to the unit.
