That's a blacktop 20v, turbocharged. It's also set up for RWD from the looks of it. I can swap one into your car and turbocharge it if you like.

What are your power goals? Because if you just want around 170/180 hp, then go with the turbo kit. If you're going to want more, then go with the swap. You'll get more power now AND more potential for the future.

If you want it turbocharged like that one, with a full low compression rebuild, then you're looking at a good deal of cash. The engine alone is around $1500-$2000 including the tranny, wiring, and ECU. Add another $2000 for for the rebuild, plus around $2000 for the turbo parts, and then labor, which is going to run you another $1800. Then I always tell people to add another $500-$1000 because of little extras that always pop up. That's around $9000!

There is a better way though. Get a 4AGE 20v Silvertop instead, and you'll save around $1000. Better yet, get one with a cut harness and ECU, and you should be able to get it for around $600 shipped. Now add another $500 for a standalone (megasquirt with EDIS), we're up to $1100. The rebuild will cost another $2500 with labor, and then the turbo parts and labor will be around $2500, so total including extras will be down to $7000.

Drop the low compression rebuild and just stay with a low boost turbo (which you can do with the silvertop but NOT with the blacktop) and you can cut off another $2500, so you only have $3600 and then those pesky extras which we may be able to keep under $4000 total.

Lastly, you can do JUST and engine swap for now, with the standalone, for less than $2000. Then you can do the turbo stuff down the road.

so is that what you are look at with your stage II turbo kit? I really would like it some where in the 225-250 range but not with any seriouse money but that will never happen. If i got your turbo kit that other mods could i do to make my car reach 225 or 250- also if you have a cat back or rims for sale i would love to buy them. i have been looken for those items forever and ebay never has a cat back for a 97 and they really never have any good rims that suit me.
