    I am soooooo screwed :(.............

Well I got a seat belt ticket a while back and well I didn't have the money to pay it at the time courtdate was set at so I went to the court to get more time and they gave me till today so I was convinced that the damn payment was due TOMORROW instead of today so I look at the damn paper they gave me and it said today, I just got back from the courthouse to see if I could work something out or something but they said that all I could possibly do is wait at home in case a warrant for my arrest is already out or go to the courthouse tomorrow at 8 am to work something out there...... man I'm so frustrated, things that I need to remember the most I don't focus on and shit man..... also IF I don't get arrested and show to court tomorrow the fine goes up $50 and no jail so hopefully I'll come out of it fine........

Well I was on the process of putting it on that day but the cop still decided to pull me over and give me a ticket, like the seat belt was more than 1/2 way to be put in the buckle.... shit I just hope the cop doesn't show up today and well that I can just get away with a fine tomorrow and that's it.....

good luck because it looks like ur really going to need it. i got pulled over yesterday and the other recruit was with me and we were on our way to training. he pulled me over and the first thing that came to my mind was i was speeding whicho was 75 on a 30. Anyway the cop goes to my right side of the car, I thought i had a burnt out headlight,or no turn signal working or maybe a low tire. It turns out he pulled us over because he thought the other recruit was not wearing his seatbelt. We both told the officer he was wearing it.the cop asked him for a DL and he gave it to him while at the same time he was calling in his information i spoke to the officer about my case (the stolen 98 LE) and he told me to go in later. Anyway the funny part is that the cop thought we were joking around when he asked us our occupation. The dispatcher called back and she just said United States Marine Corp and the cop gave him back his DL and he just let us go. Then he told us if we ever needed anything just to give him a call. it may not sound funny but if you were there it was hilarious if you saw the cops face whe he heard that. But when we go to the office the Sgt. had it out with both of us.if one screws up we both take the shit. but we still survived.

nah it's just that sometimes on this kind of cases to punish ur ass they like make u pay like a lot more man and I just hope that doesn't happen.... like if it's 50-60 bucks in top of what I already had to pay (70 bucks) then no problem but Lakewood courts and shit are known to raise their shit to punish people.....

A ticket just for your seat belt??...in okla, those are $20 tickets, isnt that how much they are over there???...man, if they do issue a warrant, maybe you can still pay that and its probably not gonna as big as u think it is.....i had some kinda ticket a while back that i got lowered to $225 but i didnt pay it in time even after an extension...afterwards, i just casually walked in to pay and they were like, they issued a warrant because u failed to pay this ticket, so i had to pay a fee of $30 plus the ticket, $225...

yea like on the continuance paper it says..... "Failure to appear for the above indicated court date(s) may result in the issuance of a bench warrant for the arrest of the defendant. Failure to appear for trail (I think they missed spelled trial) or requesting a continuance at the time of trial, may result in the assessment of an additional $50.00 witness reimbursment fee..... so I dk hopefully it's just the $50 bucks in top of the $70.... better than jail man, I can't afford to have any dings on my record I'm clean so far and I want to keep it that way...

I'm long past having a clean record lol. Charged with a felony for under age driving/stealing a car (my parents car lol)/out past curfew went to court and had it droped to a misdeaminor and later reduced to a fine. Other then that had the usual speeding tickets and parking tickets on campus.

If youre worried about 200, 300, even a 400 total from this, how do you expect to pay for a bike, insurance, etc? And this is a minor offense, with a BENCH WARRANT. Its not a jailable offense!! And why didnt ya just pay it in the first place?
How long ago was the ticket issued?

Why would the cop care if youre in the Marines? Are you immune to traffic citations?

Usually when you are in the service they let you slide. I have family in the service and they always tell me stories how the cops let them go with a warning when they get stopped.

Many years ago when I was traveling down to MD and had a buzz cut I got stopped near baltimore for speeding, the first thing the cop asked me is if I was in the military, and I told him no. Then he interrogated both my friend and myself separately as to where we were going. Ultimately he let us go on a warning. But yes I think people actively in the service are inmmune to tickets lol.

I understand that you can get some leeway from officers.....officers usually dont write other officers tickets....but just dont abuse the fact.
