    hp benchmarking

so i know little to nothing about cars but im very interested. thats just fyi. anyways, ive noticed so many ppl waiting around for dyno results or track times. cant we (assuming manual) just LOOK at rpm vs speed before a mod and after? ive grown accustomed to seeing 4k rpm move around 40mph in 2nd. just thinking another 10hp would change that a little, but ive never seen it around. are things more difficult than that?

it would be extremely difficult to tell any differences in horsepower that way. plus then u couldn't brag about it :D

I don't get it. RPM vs. speed will be the same forever and ever amen on a 5-spd, assuming no mods to the transmission or final drive ratio. Increasing power does not change the gearing ratios...they will not change unless you modify them.

Did I understand the post correctly??
