sadly, that's what depreciation does. doesn't help that the car was in an accident.

How much is my car worth??

    Hi guys,
How ya all doing? I need some of your comments, on how to go about selling my 'rolla.

I got a 99 'Rolla, with the following:
    -- TRD Body Kit
    -- Car Alarm
    -- CD/MP3 Player
    -- Tinted Windows
-- Power Windows/Locks, Cruise Control (all the 'LE goodies)
-- and few extra mods (side lights, painted dash [minimal], razo shift knob)
    -- Has 64K+ miles (Highway 90%)
-- Free oil changes/rotations/car washes/etc... + lots of discounts (Darcars Maintainence Package)
-- Full service records of the Toyota dealer
-- One accident on record (Deer w/ the driver's side door, all fixed w/ lifetime warranty)
-- Has some scratches/blemishes on the rear bumper (parking lot incident)
-- Has a small crack in the windshield (it outlines the size instruments' dash, that sticks out/up w/ the steering wheel)
    -- In Maryland, USA
-- Overall, it runs great, no problems at all mechanically.

I need your comments as to the following:
-- How much should I be asking, say for a private sale?
-- Any tips as to how to get the most of the sale?
-- Any heads'up, when it comes to actually selling it?
    Thanks in advance!

    -- Vish

PS: I have the same post in CorollaCustomz ;)

return the car to completely stock(yes, remove the kit). sell off the extraneous parts...and sell the car as it was when you bought it.

why? you'll be more likely to get more money that way.

I guess you are right. But who really had the time/will ;) to take 'em off the 'Rolla.
I just hope to get something more than 5K. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair :(.

I was actually being realistic when i replied. If you de-mod it, you might get 6.

My prizm had a trade in value of 3,500 when I traded it for the corolla and that was along the same lines of your car. (5 years old, 60 thousand miles, decent shape, a few mods, etc..). The salesman was a little stingy with my trade in figures though, he wanted to sell me an Echo.

With modifications..probably a bit below blue book. Back to stock, you should be able to get approximately the KBB value, and then sell your mods separately. =)

don't make the usual mistake of adding the full price of the mods to the price of the car. the body kit, radio, and other stuff don't add to the resale value. If you indeed have full, complete maintenance records then that will help a lot more. the accident doesn't help but if you also have records of that (if it was just sheet metal damage, for example) then it shoudn't be a big deal. Also get a new windshield or get that one fixed.

Go and get quotes from NADA and Kelley Blue Book....run a search on the net for their websites.
