How many watts can the battary take?

How many watts can a 03 take with not capaciators, wouldnt want it to stall out at a stop light, how cool would that be. And those who have lots of bass, where do i put the dynamat, or how do i get rid of the bass rattle, i have a custom rear deck and that takes away rattle form the inside. but what about rattle from the outside.

Its not the battery that you need to worry about, its the alternator.. i read on a site that corollas have an 80 amp alternator.. if an amp was 100 percent efficient (in reality more like 50-80%) and the alternator could push all 80 amps to your amplifier, then you could theoretically get 1152 watts (Power=voltage x current).. in reality i'd say 1000 watts max.. and even that is probably too much.. I am running an amp that is 1500 watts @ 1 ohm and about 500 @ 4 ohm.. i have a dvc 2 ohm sub (brahma 12") and with the amp at 4 ohms the lights dim quite a bit when i blast it.. i would imagine 1500 watts would be a bad idea, so i havent tried it yet.. capacitors arent gunna help either, they just put more strain on your electrical system.. i'm not sure about upgrading an alternator for a corolla yet.. I dont think they make any direct fit upgrades, but i ahvent really asked anyone either... A better battery is only going to help your music play longer with the car off.. or if you are running a system that uses more power than the alternator can take then it is gunna drain juice out of your battery.. so if you have a high powered system, try to find an upgraded alternator because a better batterry won't help for very long, and a cap will just make the problem worse, or just dont play your music loud all the time, then you wont use as much power.

i installed a red top optima battery after i installed my amp and sub and i no longer get the dimming of the lights when the bass hits. if the alternator is givivg out it max to just the amp it will take extra power from the battery. if you ever have your alt go out you can charge our battery fully so you can at leat make it to the service station to get the new alt installed. been there done that. just make sure all elextronics are off. but a better battery will or at least should help a bit. an alt is your best choice but for now i dont know of any alts with higher output yet. when it comes out i will prob upgrade mine.

Well i already have a db 500 watt 2 ch to two 12's. Was wondering if maybe a 300 watt 4 ch to all four speakers be a big problem on the alternator?

No problem at all. I used to run two 81000D's (3,000 watt peak Amplifiers) in my old Camry with 70A alt.. no problems.

i ran 1 81000d and another ~300 watt mtx amp (forgot the model) with a 70 amp alternator in my escort, it didnt handle very well, too much dimming and the voltage was in the 12 - 13 range all the time, so i upgraded to a 90 amp alternator because thats all i could find that had a direct fit.. it was much better with that but still a little bit of dimming..

two 81000d's are capable of drawing over 250 amps together.. either you werent nearly utilizing the amps full potential or you just didnt have the system long enough for it to ruin your alternator..

You could probably get away with 800 watts total but you will notice dimming.. get low gauge power and ground wires.. like 2 gauge.. and possibly rewire the stock ground wire as well if you want best results, with minimal dimming.. if anyone knows of a direct fit upgraded alternator let us know

haha I think you're right-- it wasn't a daily driver and the system was only used for burps on dB drags.. never played daily music on it

You might want to try these stores for a HO alt:

I'm only running 600 watts right now and it dims my lights really bad.
