I dunno, my cuz told me a guy he knows has a Celica GT (not GTS) with intake and stage 2 cams and maybe something else I dont know and they guy says hes around 180 or so WHP. I dont know if its true but he kills Audis (I know its no big deal but he says kill as in leave them behind big time) and he beats my cuz Jetta thats 200hp.

How fast can you (easily) make an XRS?

I just read the C&D review:

That's only one tenth faster than mine (without n2o)..and I haven't done *that* much to it..

Is the XRS really restricted (intake/exhaust), or...?

doesn't intake/header/exhaust/drag radials bring a celical gts down to the low 14's? I would think mid-high 14's for the xrs if so

eatmyxrs has a cold air intake and an exhaust system on her XRS. Check with her.

Well if it can go IN a GTS it can go in the XRS. There isn't even a CAI for the XRS yet. The only thing I can find so far is the TRD muffler.

Power-FC ECU is one of the best mods for the GT-S IMO.

yes with the non-vvti 1zz but not wit the vvti 1zz. No one has been able to get the variable valve timing down to actually gain a good amount of power. He was bullshitin.

So as of now, it might be a drivers' race between me and an XRS, but with them having a slight advantage?

I am not sure I understand how it is possible to run 1/4 miles in the 15 without major modifications to a non vvti 1998 Corolla ( 120 HP). It just sounds impossible. Even the regular 03+ Corolla stock runs quarter mile of 16.2 seconds at best.

I have the timeslip in my car..

As for mods..I guess it depends on your definition of 'major' modifications -- I have an ELP CAI, 2.25" catback, ACT clutch, Fidanza flywheel, & suspension work. I haven't pulled the engine apart, though. I didn't have my NX system installed on that run, or it might've been a touch lower.

Your trap speed is 85 mph as opposed to 90 mph in the car and driver review. Secondly, I know for a fact that it is very easy to get mid 15 second quarter mile on the Corolla XRS with a good driver. The review you looked at in car and driver magazine also states that the XRS was tested in tough high altitude conditions.

    Don't get defensive..lol..I was just asking. I didn't know for a fact that a mid-15 was possible -- all I saw was 15.8.

Same city..even same state..or country would help. :p

But..let me fill my bottle first..;)

I might have a chance then..maybe. I still need to get colder plugs, though -- but after I do, I'll refill my bottle (I don't have a bottle heater, so I can't use more than half without running out of pressure), I'll try to get to the track and get a new timeslip. Who knows..heh

I'd like to test drive an XRS, but the dealer here doesn't even have a Scion tC in manual, or a supercharged Corolla..so I really doubt they have an XRS around.

Mine's not auto -- it's a manual paired with an ACT clutch and Fidanza aluminum flywheel. And n2o. ;)

There are some people on matrixowners.com who have been running quarter miles in high 14 and low 15 s with some modifications. I guess, in due course of time it will be possible for Corolla XRS as well.
