    1. lay off the drugs
    2. go to www.jcwhitney.com and buy 1500 dollars worth of parts
    3. go take some pictures of your car and a fat 300lb reject model
    4. send them to APC and hope they call you back

I agree. The car needs to have alot of stuff on it already to get sponsored or it has something custom no one has around thats out yet. I got a couple of sponsors thats legit, but most of them are like I get parts at cost and the only free complete sponsor I got is just some lame sticker company. The place that finds the sponsors for me specifies inorder to get more I need to keep going to shows and continually building my car. Basically to get sponsored your car needs to look almost like it can go on a magazine...

oh and here's how I got sponsored. You have to pay for them to find sponsors for u, but its legit. I already used some of my sponsors and products. The only draw backs are I guess slow shipping from sponsors which I can't complain.

you guys think of sponsorships as free parts and stuff but that is highly misunderstood. Sponsors do not just give you free parts so you can show them, most of them only sponsor cars that are fully done already too, if you guys think sponsors can help you build your dream car then forget about it

it's l ike Phoz said... your car has to be already at a certain point and had some recognition before a sponsor will even consider you... why would they want to sponsor a car that won't get attention already?

shyguy put TONS of money into his car before any sponsor was even interested.

then you have to put together a serious proposal package and make the sponsor believe that you are committed and dedicated.

If you ain't gonna make a showing at all the major shows.. what benefit is it to the sponsor?

Remember, all sponsors are a business.. if they can't see a way to make money on the deal, they probably won't bother... you need to approach them in a professional and respective manner.

do you homework before you approach any sponsor

Well I had to wait like a week or just a couple of days for them to find me a sponsor. If you don't get sponsored then you don't have to pay the 89 dollar fee. I got 2 at first then the more pics and updates you send in the more I got offors and stuff. First off to really choose a sponsor you have to abide their rules and regulations. For me right now I can choose alot of sponsors thats available like Dunlop, Maxim wheels, etc. sponsors if I go to a couple of big shows next year like nopi or HIN. The only thing for me to really get sponsored is to contact the people incharge and tell them your going to follow their criterias. So if you do get sponsored within the first couple of weeks more will be available to you. This is after filling the survey and info of car and so on. I don't know, but this site is legit for me so far and I already used some of my sponsors vouchers.

All you have to do is sit down and write a letter listing all of the things that you have on your car, and what you plan on doing to your car, then contact them, send them the letter, and pictures of your car, clean. That's gotten me two. You might get rejected, but keep on, and don't think that you are two good to get sponsored by smaller companies

And how did he do it?

Did he start off with a stock car, and called a company up and said "Hey, I have this car....I want to mod it, want to give me free parts?"

sponsorship is about the person more than the car. If you have past success, shows/competions, you can get a company to give you free stuff. If you have contacts to get your car published in a magazine you can get almost anything.

I do audio and my team and I got a full sponsorship a few years ago from Phoenix Gold. Once we started that we went to different companies and ended up getting a blower, full suspension, and tires and wheels.

Bottom line is, prove what you can do, and what you can do for them. All they care about is there bottom line, no you.
